Common view points:
The CEO
– Innovation and technology is at best an enabler for Finance and Sales
The CIO – Innovation and technology should be the driver that can put the organization ahead of the competition
The COO – Innovation and technology change can be a distraction and expensive, we try to keep things as they are, for as long as possible

Cor Loots joined Levi Strauss & Co. in 1980.  He has extensive experience and wide-ranging knowledge of the business in areas that are vital to the success of the Operating Committee.  Cor has held a variety of increasingly responsible roles in Inventory and Production Planning, Operations and Business Process Improvement.  In 1994, he was a member of the team responsible for reengineering the LS&CO. business model, with specific accountability for product development and logistics processes.

In 1996, Cor became the New Business Project Leader, responsible for setting up an integrated supply chain to reduce purchasing costs and improve management gross profit for our high volume denim products.  He also led the European Conference Pilot, accountable for the business process design of the ERP system (BaaN) and Manugistics.

Most recently, he restructured distribution and logistics for LSEMA into a central inventory and order fulfilment model, and was instrumental in setting up new businesses in LSEMA, like e-commerce and Russia.

Cor's new challenge is being the chairman of LS&CO. Global Operating Committee. The committee is charged with creating a blueprint of the global infrastructure Levi's needs to enable their breakthrough growth plans and help them to operate easier, faster and better over the next five years.

Like Kurt, today Cor is also focused on improving business processes throughout EMEA, unifying them into a more consistent and efficient alignment.  Cor is well known for his energy and drive, motivating his team forward with energy and clarity. "But it is not all about my team, much of the time I am focused on the clearing a path for them to pass through and balancing the conflicting roles of a wide ranging group of stakeholders".

Cor's story is engaging and as diverse as it is relevant and engaging to those of us faced with tough challenges ahead of us.
